Notes
|
Sturge
|
|
The family is recorded under the name Sturge in the 1861 census.
John Henry Sturch is recorded as a
Sturge a number of times, James Sturch is a
Sturge in the 1891 census and the first wife of
Charles Sturch, Annie Bartlett, is named as Annie Sturge when her death is
registered. It has been suggested by Colin Biddle that the name corruption could
be due to the influence of an Irish mother?
