Death Certificate
|
|
George appears to have died alone in London while the rest of
the family were living in Waddesdon. There was a post mortum
after his death, but the actual cause of death listed on his
certificate is hard to decipher. There is a seven day gap between
his death and the date his death was registered, which gives
fuel to the family rumour that no-one knew that he had died
and he was almost buried in a pauper's grave. Why was he alone
in London? It wasn't for work reasons as he was 70 and retired.
Family legend suggests that he was violent towards Charlotte
and so she left him. His death was finally registered by Thomas,
who gives his address as 51 High Street, Waddesdon. So Thomas
and his wife, Edward and his family and Charlotte were all living
together in the same house during the war.
